(APR 20)
As this beautiful John Green quotation emphasizes, working to the point of losing brain matter is currently a prevalent occurrence within my body as a result of multiple cups of coffee a day and waking up at 8am only to look back at the clock to see that it is 4:30pm. In this time of great stress, I often rely on the words of a great philosopher: “Even though I look like a burnt chicken nugget, I still love myself.” In other news, I went on the first live call for the Capstone Experience class and discussed my progress and goals for the upcoming weeks, especially with AP exams right around the corner.
I also finally -- drum roll please -- got a response from Get Lit - Words Ignite, and will be having a phone call conference with a potential mentor! Get Lit is an organization that focuses on creating slam poetry-inspired curricula for classroom settings and encouraging literacy for children in the Los Angeles, CA area that are at a risk for dropping out of school. I am very excited to be discussing my project with someone who can offer a new perspective on my capstone project!
I have also fully transitioned into “Your Small Moment” and erased the previous name “Star Sailor Stories” from most mentions so as not to confuse anyone reading my blogs now versus before.
