(APR 15)
I have started my Twitter and YouTube channel, making up the latter two social media accounts I had to make, in addition to my Instagram! I also have begun filming for my pitch video! My idea consists of a poetic-structured script about cleaning my room and writing can remove us from our current circumstances to share them with others in beautiful and honest ways, if only for a few moments. I have also developed a new color scheme, from blue and pink to yellow, pink, and orange!
I will also be changing my project name from “Star Sailor Stories” to “Your Small Moments.” Inspired by one of my favorite authors, Olivia Gatwood, who started this movement called “Girls of Isolation,” I have developed a plan to rename my project “Your Small Moments.” Gatwood’s project consists of people sending in black-and-white pictures of themselves, those who identify as women and/or non-binary people, adapting to quarantine and displaying how they are handling quarantine in their own spaces, in their own bodies.
Your Small Moments would have a similar approach to “Girls of Isolation,” in which people share really small pieces of events in their lives that have stuck with them, in the form of writing and coordinating photo(s).I plan on putting out a post online encouraging people to send in their “small moments,” via their own writing and a picture, to be shared with their peers through the instagram for my project, as a campaign called #yoursmallmoments.
